'GENEALOGISTS FOR FAMILIES' PROJECT

Through Kiva, a non-profit organisation working with microfinance institutions, we make $25 loans that enable borrowers without access to traditional banks to expand their businesses, support their families, save for the future and raise themselves out of poverty. When the loan is repaid we can withdraw the money or lend it again. If we repeatedly lend the same $25, that small sum makes a big difference to many lives.

The project received the 2011 GeneaBlog Award for 'Best New Community Project'. Within a few months we had more than 125 members in 9 countries helping over 250 individuals or groups - and the numbers increase daily. Join 'Genealogists for Families' - together we are making a difference!

  1. Chris, thanks for helping to spread the word about the 'Genealogists for Families' project. Our team has now grown to 144 members helping 316 individuals or groups. The numbers increase daily, and can be seen on our Kiva team page. I'm glad you can come to some of our social events.
